Another castle on a cliff - Penfeather - 08-14-2010

"Swallow's Nest" in Crimea. Almost more of a folly than a true castle, it was originally a love-nest for a Russian general. It has survived earthquakes of 7 on the Richter scale! (Part of the cliff fell into the sea but the castle remained intact.)

(Makes me think a little of King Haggard's castle in The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle.)

Whether the view would be worth the stress of living "on the edge" would depend on your life's philosophy . . .
