I should have made the distinction between gasoline and natural gas. I didn't mean to give the appearance of conflating the two.

By the way, since you and Gothic Tiger are from Louisiana . . . It seems to me that some time ago I read a Gothic, set in New Orleans in the late 19th Century, but I can't remember the author or title. It wasn't a bad story, though there was some silly voodoo stuff that was a little over the top. But it did give this Yankee a very strong impression of the flavor of old New Orleans.
