Mine was either Dracula which I read the summer of sixth grade after seeing the Jack Palance movie or Mistress of Mellyn by Victoria Holt. I can't remember when I read the Holt novel, but it was the first of hers that I read and I practically inhaled them after that.

It was a Victoria Holt title, I do know that. Years ago, I was browsing the general fiction shelves of the library after exhausting the teen/YA section, in search of something new to read and somehow her name stuck out at me and I grabbed the book and have loved her work and gothic romances ever since.
