RE: Can you pinpoint the very first Gothic you read? - honorharrington - 02-11-2010 Mine was either Dracula which I read the summer of sixth grade after seeing the Jack Palance movie or Mistress of Mellyn by Victoria Holt. I can't remember when I read the Holt novel, but it was the first of hers that I read and I practically inhaled them after that. Years ago, I was browsing the general fiction shelves of the library after exhausting the teen/YA section, in search of something new to read and somehow her name stuck out at me and I grabbed the book and have loved her work and gothic romances ever since. |
