Of Spring And Regret

Anthea forgot to pay me a visit once again
Along with her gleaming dress of cruising clouds
Her teasing purple afternoons
Her enamored chorus of mockingbirds that fly by,
And blooming path of bleeding hearts

Instead came in her cousin Niobe weeping tears,
Her glistening silk gown—
far more elegant in contemplation than Aurora's blush.
Alone in her palely loitering—
Her cold embrace, my only comfort
Her wilting flowers drowning helplessly
Lulled asleep by her pouring lamentations
I think you have a true gift for poetry.
