Mervyn Peake, anyone?
Wikipedia classifies Gormenghast as a Gothic novel, although I'm not sure how well it qualifies as a Gothic Romance. It certainly does have Gothic elements, though. Any opinions?

(I've only read the first book, Titus Groan. Can't comment on the whole thing.)
