"Where is Jenny Now?"
#1
Billed as a Gothic suspense, I found little to recommend it as a Gothic. However, I would recommend it as a suspense mystery with a very light touch on romance. I would say it has more than one heroine and that both, despite their differences in class and education, are tough and intelligent. I'd give it an "A" for plot and suspense, but because I got confused with the locale of two homes, I'd give it a "B" for clarity.

I would have to say that although you might be correct, the fact that it fits within the Gothic suspense era would be determined by the year the book was written. In todays world this is where they feel the book would best be served. I have seen many books that I too would not recommend as Gothic, but still this is where they have placed them, and someone somewhere might have a differing opinion.
