Frankensteins Creature

I thought those of you based in London would be interested in a show opening at Theatre503 in Battersea next week. It's called Frankenstein's Creature; a completely new retelling of Shelley's classic tale from the perspective of the creature himself:

Frankenstein's Creature

by James Swanton

25 August - 29 August, Tuesday - Saturday 7.45pm (Saturday matinee 3pm)

£14/£10

He came into the world, fully formed. He never felt the warmth of a friend or the touch of a lover. Even his father fled from him in terror.

But Frankenstein’s Creature feels the sun on his face, the cold in his bones, and a hatred stirring. With no name and no past, he must forge a place in a world that does not want him. He must find his voice.

“I am rising, ever rising, to the top of the world. Yet it feels like a falling”

Frankenstein’s Creature is a thrilling new play from award-winning writer-performer James Swanton. Radically reframing Mary Shelley’s classic tale from the perspective of the Creature himself, it shines a light on the makings of a monster and the darkness within us all.

Fresh from his West End run of Sikes & Nancy, James Swanton premieres his latest work at Theatre503. For one week only, see him in a gripping new production from Dippermouth, ‘one of the UK’s best new theatre companies’ (Anthony Biggs, Jermyn Street Theatre).
