Looking for an author - coramunroe - 05-14-2009

Years ago I remember reading a gothic book, think the title was The Ancestor. I lent it to one of my classmates and she lost it. I must have liked the book to remember it all these years but have been unable to find a copy.

I remember a few things about it - the heroine of the story looks in the mirror and sees the outline of someone else's lip embossed over her own (I know it sounds gross!), the house was located up on a cliff and one of the owners had a (I think) chain-link fence installed and the wind whistled through the links. That is about all I remember. Does anyone know the author or if this is the correct title?

I looked on Fictiondb.com and keyed in "The Ancestor" (per your memory) in the Complete Book List option. A few books popped up, but the most promising seemed to be by an author named Robin Carol. I then looked up "Robin Carol/The Ancestor" on Amazon and a a book came up with a good view of its cover. Does it look familiar? It's about twins, Jennifer and Jill, one good and one evil. Hope this info helps.

Thank you! This is exactly the book I was looking for - remember the greens on the cover. I have just ordered a copy. Wouldn't it be funny if the copy I receive had my name inscribed in it from all those years ago??
