I've begun a new Gothic novel; so far so very good. It seemed entirely intact, even after gently handling it while reading for over 45 minutes. Quite by accident I discovered (after a thin section of pages still bound together nearly fell away from the spine) that pages 125 - 138 are missing! :*( Waaaa!
Well, if it's any consolation, thank God I found this out while only on page 10. If I'd found this out while flipping over to page 125...yikes, would I be a tad bit miffed. Searched the house for where I'd carried the book; no pages slipped out onto the floor (my ears are sharp and I probably would have heard that anyway).
Have ordered (a hopefully entirely intact) copy of the book online.
*sigh*
