Who are the most memorable characters from the Gothic romances you have read?

I have read a lot of Gothics, but unfortunately, I have a hard time remembering details, especially names of characters. I can remember a person's actions or the feelings they evoke in me, but the names many times escape me. People like Jane Eyre and Rebecca will always be remembered because the novels are named after them. But how many other heroes or heroines can you name? How many other supporting characters can you name? I believe that memorable characters add to a book's posterity, and I would appreciate recommendations for books that have these characters.

I'd consider "Eleanor" from "The Haunting of Hill House" to be memorable.
