The spine label reads "Gothic", but without the life-threatening scene, it is debatable. It had all the other elements of a Gothic, so I include it here.

The story concerns a young artist who is manipulated into going to Norway with her childhood friend's fiancee in order to meet up with said childhood friend. On the trip and at the destination, she finds true love and adventure. That's as much as I can say without giving it all away.

Rona Randall does a very good job of story telling and I enjoyed this book, even though I had expected the heroine to be caught in a life-threatening climax. It interested me enough to search for other books by her. This deserves a "B+".
